Boulder Family Vision specialize in understanding how the human eye really works, as well as diseases and conditions that affect your vision—many of which do not always have obvious symptoms. Dr. Elmont knows how age and risk factors affect vision over time for young and old, and she understands the benefits and features of corrective lenses, both as eyeglass lenses and contact lenses.
Dr. Elmont takes the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listens to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, we encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing and treating potential vision problems.
Meet our eye doctor in Boulder:
Dr. Elmont earned her B.A. in Chemistry in 2002 and went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry degree from Pacific University College of Optometry, Oregon, in 2006. As part of her training, she completed internships at the Eye Care Associates of Nevada in Reno, Air Force Academy Hospital in Colorado Springs, and the Albert Lea Eye Clinic-Mayo Health System in Minnesota. At these clinics, Dr. Elmont was given advanced training in areas such as cataract and surgery co-management, ocular disease, pediatrics and contact lenses.
Dr. Elmont was awarded the Alcon Clinical Excellence award in 2006 and her research is published in three different optometry and ophthalmology journals. Dr. Elmont is currently an active member of the American and Colorado Optometric Associations, serving on the COA’s Board of Trustees from 2019 to 2020. She enjoys giving comprehensive eye care for the entire family, especially children’s exams, fitting contact lenses, and surgical consults and co-management.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling to see friends and family and visiting warm places in the winter! Her two sons (Micah and Bodie) and dog (Piper) keep her active outdoors with hiking, jogging, biking, and camping and basically taking in all that beautiful Colorado has to offer.
Piper Elmont is Dr. Ashlee Elmont’s female blue merle mini Australian Shepherd. She was born March 28th, 2021 in Grand Junction, Colorado. She loves “working” at the office by greeting patients and delivery people with full body wiggles. Dr. Elmont’s sons, Micah & Bodie are her human brothers and two of her favorite people. Her favorite activities are tug of war, snuggling into faux fur blankets and fetching sticks and stuffed animals. Her love language is definitely physical touch, so be sure to cuddle her and give her lots of belly rubs! She fits into the Colorado Yogi scene as well by showing off her favorite poses of upward facing dog and frog pose. Sometimes her adventures take her to places beyond being Boulder Family Vision’s office mascot, but when she is here we will be sure to let you know the dog-tor is in!
**Please let our staff know if you have allergies to dogs and we can make arrangements for Piper to be out of the area.**
We are closed daily from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm for lunch.
